Zvěstování / Annunciation - 1975

Pokud se řekne Zvěstování vybaví se nejspíše velká tradice mistrů italského quattrocenta – v tomto neambiciózním obrázku se spíše zrcadlí dojmy z Podzámecké zahrady / oblouky Rybářského pavilónku / a vzpomínky na romantická zákoutí parků v Olomouci. O Itálii jsem tehdy samozřejmě jen snil – později při setkaní „naživo“ s malými deskovými obrazy anonymních autorů ve Vatikánských muzeích mne překvapila podobnost atmosféry. Jako bych se potkal s něčím dávným a důvěrně známým. Vypjatá intimita italské ranně renesanční malby na mne udělala velký dojem – je to přesně to co nám v naší době doslova mizí před očima, a po čem se nám bude asi neustále stýskat…

If you think about the Annunciation you will probably see immediately there great tradition of Italian masters of Quattro cento – at this non ambitious image we can recognize rather earlier reflects of the impressions from the Chateau Garden Kroměříž / arcs Fishing pavilion / and some memories of romantic retreats parks in Olomouc. About Italy I had only dreamed at this years, of course - I remember later meeting with Italian art "of live"  - it was in the Vatican museums: incredible beautiful small panel paintings by anonymous artists. It was surprise for me to see personally this similar atmosphere – experience as I met with something old and familiar. Deep intimacy of almost pre-renaissance Italian paintings impressed...
