Kompozice dvou figur  / The composition of two figures 1975

Od začátku jsme věděl, že se nemám pokoušet o kompozice více jak dvou figur – vnáší to do plochy obrazu nežádoucí konotace vlastní spíše ilustraci. Záměrem bylo povznést dialog vnitřního děje obrazu do více abstraktnější roviny, vyhnout se tak zbytečným narativním zákrutům, ve kterých si často libovala tehdy právě nastupující postmoderna. Současně jsem si uvědomoval, že lyrická abstrakce šedesátých let v té době již zplaněla v prázdném, nic neříkajícím dekorativním gestu. Šlo o to pronést svoje „message“ touto zdánlivě slepou uličkou…

From the beginning I knew that it is not necessary to try make a composition of paintings from more than two figures - it is bringing to the surface of the painting rather undesirable connotations own illustration. The goal was to elevate the internal dialogue going on the painting into more abstract level - avoid to unnecessary narrative contents in which often reveled just emerging postmodernism. I realized at the same time, that the lyrical abstraction of the sixties already gone wild in an empty, meaningless decorative gesture. The idea was to deliver my "message" through this seemingly dead end ...
