Dáma s černou mašlí / Lady with a black ribbon - 1977

Zájem o italskou renesanci ve mně vzbudila poprvé v silnější míře výstava olomouckého malíře a hudebníka Miroslava Šnajdra / Italské reminiscence /. Jde o jednu z mnoha prací na téma italského renesančního portrétu – většinu jsem zničil nespokojen s výsledkem, čehož se zpožděním lituji. Fresky Pierra della Francesca – orchestrální obrazy B.Martinů mne provází po celý život a prizmatem této oslnivě barevné hudby geniálního autora 20. století vidím dílo velkého italského malíře. Návštěva Assisi se pro mne a Zdenku stala po léta poutním místem kam se vracíme pro doušek vláhy.  Rozpálené stráně olivových hájů na úbočí Assisi ve mně vždy vzbudí těžko popsatelné pocity – jako bychom už teď zažívali věčnost…

Frescoes of Pierre della Francesca - orchestral pictures by Bohuslav Martinů accompanied me through a whole lifetime and I am always seeing through the prism of dazzling colors of this brilliant music of the 20th century the great work of the great Italian painter. A visit to Assisi for me and Zdenka become a place of pilgrimage for many years - where we are coming back for a sip of moisture. Hot hillside olive groves on the slopes of Assisi has always arouses in me feelings, which are not possible to describe – this is just a breath of eternity ...
